The ad highlights Iron Range residents sharing their experiences with Hauschild and Zupancich

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

HERMANTOWN, MN. — On Thursday, Senator Grant Hauschild released the third tv ad of his 2026 reelection campaign, highlighting his work to support local law enforcement, strengthen rural emergency medical services, and deliver property tax relief for Northland families.

WATCH HERE.

The ad contrasts Hauschild’s legislative record of investments in public safety and tax relief with that of his opponent Andrea Zupancich. As mayor of Babbitt, Zupancich raised property taxes by one of the highest in the state and still tried to cut funding for police and first responders.

Hauschild has made public safety, emergency medical services, and cutting the cost of living key priorities during his first term in the Minnesota Senate. He championed legislation providing state funding for rural ambulance services, and this year delivered $125 million of property tax relief for Minnesota homeowners. In addition, Senator Hauschild secured $515 in on-going property tax credits for every household in the Taconite Assistance Area which includes the community of Babbitt.

ABOUT GRANT HAUSCHILD

Grant Hauschild represents Senate District 3 in the Minnesota Senate, which includes the Arrowhead, Iron Range, North Shore, and much of the Northland. First elected to the Senate in 2022, Hauschild has focused on delivering results for rural communities, supporting working people, families and seniors, strengthening local economies, standing up to Big Tech, and making sure Northern Minnesota receives its fair share of state investment.

Hauschild has delivered on bringing down the cost of living  and defending rural healthcare, investing in jobs, and preventing fraud. He was instrumental in stabilizing rural emergency medical services by securing new funding and a Northern Minnesota Sprint medic pilot program, and delivered millions of dollars in public safety funding for local police and fire departments across the Northland.

Hauschild has also helped deliver historic tax relief, including the largest Social Security tax relief legislation in Minnesota history, ensuring that over 80% of Minnesota seniors no longer pay income tax on their benefits. In 2026 he secured $125 million in property tax relief for Minnesota households.

Before serving in the Senate, Hauschild worked in rural economic development for the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and as a labor policy aide for U.S. Senator Heidi Heitkamp, before  serving on the Hermantown City Council. He and his wife Grace live in Hermantown with their two children.
