Delivered Promises

Grant Hauschild

A no-nonsense approach to just deliver for our communities

As a Senator, Grant Hauschild has prioritized addressing the bread-and-butter issues that matter most to us. He works hard to bring state investments back into the community. Some of his delivered promises are highlighted below.

Priorities

Senator Hauschild championed the creation of an independent Office of Inspector General with real authority to investigate fraud, waste, and abuse across state government. This new watchdog finally gives Minnesota the tools to go after bad actors and ensure public dollars are used as intended. Grant has stayed focused on accountability so trust in government is earned and protected.

Grant helped lead the fight to stabilize rural EMS services by securing new funding and innovative sprint medic pilot program in Northern Minnesota so ambulances stay staffed and available in small communities. When the Coast Guard pulled out of the North Shore, he advanced a local partnership between the Cook and Lake County Sheriff’s Offices and the Grand Portage Band to ensure emergency response coverage remained strong. He also delivered public safety funding for every local police department across Northern Minnesota to keep our communities safe.

Senator Hauschild delivered real relief for working families by supporting the strongest child tax credit in the nation, making free school meals permanent, and passing historic education funding. He helped advance paid family and medical leave so parents can care for loved ones without risking their jobs. Grant has also worked to address childcare affordability so families can stay in the workforce and communities can continue to grow. He even provided Northern

Grant promised to deliver tax relief for seniors and followed through by helping pass the largest Social Security tax relief package in Minnesota history. This change put more money back into the pockets of seniors living on fixed incomes across the Northland. It was a direct response to what seniors asked for and a commitment he kept.

Senator Hauschild has consistently stood up for Northern Minnesota jobs by supporting mining, timber, and tourism while also advancing new opportunities like helium production. He stood shoulder to shoulder with steelworkers when they needed a strong voice and helped pass bipartisan permitting reforms backed by environmental groups, the Minnesota Building Trades, and the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce. His approach protects jobs while keeping Minnesota competitive.

Grant has been a leading voice against federal Medicaid cuts that would devastate rural hospitals, nursing homes, and patients. He secured new funding for rural nursing homes and hospitals, including support for more mental health beds on the Iron Range. This is on top of his leadership saving rural ambulance services across Northern Minnesota.
