The ad features Hauschild’s record of bucking his party and work to secure rural ambulance funding
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
HERMANTOWN, MN. — Senator Grant Hauschild has released his final digital ad of his 2026 reelection campaign. In the ad, “Stood Up,” Hauschild spotlights his record of standing up for his community at the Capitol when St. Paul fails to deliver for northern Minnesota.
In a clip from the Senate Taxes Committee, Hauschild calls out the inequities of a system that forces the region with the most public land in the state—land enjoyed by all Minnesotans—to beg for essential services that are commonplace in wealthier areas with a denser tax base. The Northland deserves better than having to plead for the resources they deserve when their home is enjoyed by everyone.
During his first term, Hauschild was instrumental in securing major reforms for Emergency Medical Services in rural communities, boosting recruitment and retention to help with staffing shortages, securing $24 million in aid to greater Minnesota to stabilize EMS, and establishing a new Sprint Medic Pilot Program in Northern Minnesota to improve response times.
Transcript of “Stood Up”
I’m Grant Hauschild, and as your state senator, I’ve stood up to anyone,
including my own party when they attacked the northland.
“Well what are we supposed to do if we can’t open business in northern minnesota?
We have to come to the state and say, golly gee, we can’t afford rural ambulance services in our communities.”
My opponent Andrea Zupancich has no history of ever standing up to her party.
She’d rather be a rubber stamp.
As your senator, I don’t work for my party, I work for you.
ABOUT GRANT HAUSCHILD
Grant Hauschild represents Senate District 3 in the Minnesota Senate, which includes the Arrowhead, Iron Range, North Shore, and much of the Northland. First elected to the Senate in 2022, Hauschild has focused on delivering results for rural communities, supporting working people, families and seniors, strengthening local economies, standing up to Big Tech, and making sure Northern Minnesota receives its fair share of state investment.
Hauschild has delivered on priorities ranging from the cost of living, to rural healthcare, jobs, and preventing fraud. He championed the creation of Minnesota’s new independent Office of Inspector General to be a government watchdog and protect taxpayer dollars. He was instrumental in stabilizing rural emergency medical services by securing new funding and a Northern Minnesota Sprint medic pilot program, and delivered millions of dollars in public safety funding for local police and fire departments across the Northland.
Hauschild has also helped deliver historic tax relief, including the largest Social Security tax relief legislation in Minnesota history, ensuring that over 80% of Minnesota seniors no longer pay income tax on their benefits. In 2026 he secured $125 million in property tax relief for Minnesota households.
